VEX U Robotics Competition Head Referee Certification and Training Course

The VEX U Robotics Competition (VURC) Head Referee certification course is designed to teach volunteer VURC referees the ways the VURC rules vary from the standard rule set. VURC Head Referees are required to pass this course in addition to the V5RC Head Referee certification course.

This course takes an average of 3.5 hours to complete, and represents 3.5 hours of professional development and training when completed. VEX U Robotics Competition Head Referees are expected to recertify each season.

The 2025-2026 VURC Head Referee training course is available at training.recf.org. For access to courses, you may need to create a new account in that system. Once you're successfully logged in, choose the VEX U program from the list on the home page, and select the VEX U Robotics Competition Head Referee Certification to begin.
