Coach Academy for VEX Programs

To further support our coaches and allow for more in-depth discussions, the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) is launching the Coach Academy, a two-part support system for both new and veteran coaches.

Coach Academy Training Courses

The Coach Academy offers a free, online, asynchronous set of courses that utilizes the Moodle platform at training.recf.org to assist coaches on staying up-to-date with the latest RECF policies, procedures, and resources. 

Courses include a deeper dive into various topics that are completed at your own pace and earn Verified Coach badges and professional development for finishing courses. Most courses can be completed in 15 minutes or less and answer many of our coaches' frequently asked questions.

How to sign up for Coach Academy Training Courses

1. Visit the RECF Training Portal at at training.recf.org.
2. Create an RECF Moodle account or sign in.
3. Navigate to your program (V5RC, VIQRC, VURC, VAIRC, etc) and click on the “Coach Academy” tile.
4. Select “Enroll Now” to join the course.

Coach Academy Office Hours

As part of the RECF’s comprehensive coaching resources, coaches can sign up to attend one-on-one or group office hours calls led by RECF staff.  Group calls focus on a specific topic and include in-depth information, explanations of resources, a question & answer session, and dedicated open discussion time. One-on-one calls can be scheduled by visiting the Coach Academy office hours booking page.
