Game Description

The 2026-2027 RECF Inspire Robotics Competition game, Pinnacle, is played on a 12’x12’ square field configured as seen below. Each match includes one team designated as the red alliance and one team designated as the blue alliance. Each team uses two robots during the match in an effort to outscore the other team. Alliance matches begin with an autonomous period, in which the robots react only to pre-created code, and then move into a longer driver-controlled period.

Teams also compete in solo matches, where a team brings two robots to take the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of solo driving matches, where student drive teams have 60 seconds to score as many points as possible while operating their robots with remote controllers, and solo coding matches, in which the robots operate using pre-written code created by the student team members.

Details

In Pinnacle, robots navigate a 12’x12’ field to collect and stack pins and cups onto goals, turn rollers,
and maximize their score with specific orientations of pins, cups, and rollers. Robots can push, lift,
rotate, stack, spin, or plow pins and cups, but must follow the rules of each specific match type.
