Game Description
The 2026-27 RECF Launch Robotics Competition game, Crossfield, is played on a 6’ x 8’ or 12' x 12' field configured as seen below. In Crossfield 1v1 matches, teams have 90 seconds to score as many points as possible.
Teams can use any robot up to 16"x16"x16", but all robots must be operated via remote control or app. Robots can include any type of structure and electronics, 3D printed components, and custom parts.
Details
In Crossfield, each team operates on one half of the field and is not allowed to cross the divider. Robots pick up balls and move them into goals. Each match lasts 90 seconds, and teams earn points based on where balls are at the end of the match. For most goals, robots have to score onto the ‘other’ side of the divided field—the farther away the goal, the more points it’s worth.
