Drone Battery and Maintenance best practices
- Teams and events should prioritize safety when charging and using LiPo batteries.
- Teams should monitor batteries during charging, not overcharge, and use balance chargers and LiPo-safe bags/containers.
- Damaged or swollen packs are not safe for use.
- If a battery pack begins smoking, swelling, or hissing it should be disconnected from the charger if it is safe to do so. Sand or a Class D fire extinguisher can help contain a LiPo fire.
